Leptauchenia is the rarest Oreodont; it is the smallest of the family, but it is by far the rarest.

The skull is on its original matrix shaped to stand up. The preservation of the bones and especially the teeth is exceptional. It should be noted some restorations (less than 5%) especially where the bones were missing at the level of the top of the skull.
